Newest Creation! PupCakes Filled with Applesauce and Frosted with Peanut Butter and Applesauce.

So today I was watching Cake Boss, my new favorite show. I got inspired to make PupCakes!! They smell delicous and have natural flavors.
They are super easy to make! They make 12.
The ingredients are:
1/2 cup flour (for rising)
1 cup oats
2 TBLS honey
1 1/2 cup applesauce
Directions:
Measure out your oats into a medium sized bowl. Apply hot water over the oats and stir make sure there is a little extra water in the bowl. Add the oats, flour, applesauce and honey. Stir until mixture is a little thick. Than scoop the mixture into 12 cupcake cups. Bake for 14-20 minutes. Until the cupcakes are firm.
If you want to fill the cupcakes:
Cut out a little circle in the middle of the cupcakes and scoop some applesauce into the middle than put the peice you cut out over the top of the hole.
Than for the filling:
Use 1 cup applesauce and 1/4 cup peanut butter. Stir the mixture together and spread lightly over the top.

Today, Let's make yellow and chocolate!

Today's cupcake idea is a yellow cake with chocolate filling in the middle. They will be inspired by Easter. I have Easter cupcake holders and boxes and decorations for it.
The recipe for the yellow cake mix is:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 cup non-fat dry milk
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder
How easy is that!!
Next the recipe for the chocolate filling that I will be using is:
Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
6 tablespoons butter
5 tablespoons evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
In a medium bowl, sift together the confectioners' sugar and cocoa, and set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter until smooth, then gradually beat in sugar mixture alternately with evaporated milk. Blend in vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. If necessary, adjust consistency with more milk or sugar.
Than to fill the cupcakes all you need is a piping bag if you do not have a piping bag you can use a regular sandwich bag and fill the bag with the filling and than cut a tiny hole in the corner or you can cut a little hole out of the top and just scoop the filling in. For filling a cupcake you can use a cone method. Which just requires a small pairing knife and you cut out a cone of the middle of the cupcake, make sure your cut is nice. Than you add your filling to the cupcakes and replace the part you just cut out. Frosting will cover anything that is unattractive.

History of Cupcakes.

The cupcake evolved in the United States in the 19th century, and it was revolutionary because of the amount of time it saved in the kitchen. There was a shift from weighing out ingredients when baking to measuring out ingredients. According to the Food Timeline Web, food historians have yet to pinpoint exactly where the name of the cupcake originated. There are two theories: one, the cakes were originall cooked in cups and two, the ingredients used to make the cupcakes were measured out by the cup.In the beginning, cupcakes were sometimes called "number" cakes, because they were easy to remember by the measurements of ingredients it took to create them: One cup of butter, two cups of sugar, three cups of flour, four eggs, one cup of milk, and one spoonful of soda. Clearly, cupcakes today have expaned to a wide variety of ingredients, measurements, shapes, and decorations - but this was one of the first recipes for making what we know today as cupcakes.Cupcakes were convenient because they cooked much quicker than larger cakes. When baking was down in hearth ovens, it would take a long time to bake a cake, and the final product would often be burned. Muffin tins, also called gem pans, were popular around the turn of the 20th century, so people started created cupcakes in tins.Since their creation, cupcakes have become a pop culture trend in the culinary world. They have spawned dozens of bakeries devoted entirely to them. While chocolate and vanilla remain classic favorites, fancy flavors such as raspberry meringue and espresso fudge can be found on menus. There are cookbooks, blogs, and magazines specifically dedicated to cupcakes.
